Presence of The Conscious Mind
(Another Chance at New Year
Resolutions)
There has been times and moments too
When your ways O’ Lord I do forget
When your signs abound, but I wander aloof
When you show the way, but I tread astray
When I call on you, but heed not your answer
When I say “speak to me,” but fail to listen
When I ask for your help, but fail to let go
When you bless my days, but I see my plights
When your grace is enough but I ask for more
When your constant presence, I fail to notice;
And therefore now, Dear Lord I pray;
Remind me please, when I am forgetful
Attract my attention, when I am distracted
Find me and guide me, when I’m lost astray
Fill my cup with the juice of contentment
And above it all, O Lord Almighty
Give me the presence of the conscious mind
To feel your nudges, and follow them through
To know your ways, and follow your path
So I find and dwell in your house forever.
