IF I WAKE AND MY HEAD IS GONE
(The Wise Man's Street Corner)
You may be insane, but I am not
Declared "Onyeara" solemnly.
I was pondering over his words,
But then "Onyeara" spoke some more;
Somehow I trust not
The looks your have,
But of one thing at least
I can assure you
"Onyeara" said looking serious
And holding high his bushy head.
You can sneak and even snoop
All around the much you can
And I could care but only less.
For when the waking quite dawn
Of tomorrow morning do but come
And I wake up here in my corner bed
To find that this my head is gone,
Or severed away from this my neck,
t is then that I shall let you know
That I do know what you do now plan,
