HERE BEFORE US
(A positive dirge)
Here before us elderly lies
Wearied, worn and very wane,
Died of good health gone with age
With youth and vibrancy all defunct.
Though once a time he was a gem
A man of manly manners made,
A king and a champion all in one
Of fresh and newly blood and bones.
Here before us lies the past,
Now stripped of any presence kept
A history stripped and only left
With memories lit in faded colors.
Though of an era past and distant,
He was a thing dearly desired
More than gems and diamonds too
No price ever could match his worth.
Here before us indifference lies
In a static state and stagnant
In this world, lifeless and listless
Lethargic, languid and torpid.
Once in him was greatly action
Ambition, toughness and talent,
In many ways inspiring and funny,
He loved to fly, though now he lies.
Here before us lies the flesh
Yet we think and talk of greatness,
Could he then be gone and done
By just an end to the flesh he wore?

YOUR BREATH IS COLD
YOUR WRATH IS GREAT
YET YOU SPEAK NO WORDS
YOU COME IN AN INSTANT
YOUR PREY KNOWS NO DIFFERENCE
THE LIFE IS SUCKED OUT OF THEM
BUT IN THAT SPLIT INSTANT
JUST BEFORE PANICK SETS IN
YOU LET THEM REMEMBER
THAT DAY, JUST "THAT" DAY
WHEN EVERY THING
SEEMED SO.....WONDERFUL
BUT WE ALWAYS SEE YOU AS THE BAD GUY
TAKING US IN THE PRIME OF OUR LIFE
FORGIVE ME
BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS DO YOUR JOB
THE FEAR OF DEATH
O death, thy fear I fear,
But I fear thee not.
I wait not for thy appointed day,
For in it you instill thy fright
And trouble the minds and thoughts
Of those who fall to thy illusion.
Admonish thy angel not to come,
For I shall acquaint myself
On how to die even daily,
Like travelers of the far country,
I too shall someday know the route,
From this world to the one beyond,
To transit at will over and again,
Loosing all fear that may lie.
